Liz Lemon all the wayyyyy great gif usage. I have a dream to get the TGS sweatshirt someday ๐๐ซถ๐ป that show is such a true depiction of what itโs like working in the industry ๐คช
I just finished reading Tina Fey's memoir Bossypants (probably why Liz Lemon came into my head tbh). 30 Rock is a show for the ages - if you ever get that sweatshirt I for sure wanna see a photo! ๐คฃ
Thanks for the mention and for all your posts this year. You are an exemplar of fine writing in the service of honest journaling. All the best for what will undoubtedly be a very busy 2025.
Itโs great to have found you on here Vicki. I look forward to the next chapter in 2025. Great to have sign posts to some other writers and thank you for the mention.
Thanks Margaret - and likewise, I really do feel so lucky to have met such great, great people on this platform. It's far exceeded my expectations in that regard (my past social media experience having mainly consisted of the Twittersphere!) and I'm excited to see where we all travel together in our writing next year ๐
Wow! An honour to be mentioned! Thank you ๐ it means so much. Iโm so glad weโre connected here and I canโt wait to discover your other mentions too xx
Ah I'm really glad to be connected too. You also inspired me with your re-brand this year - think I may be having a bit of a refresh and glow up around these parts too soon. I may be coming to you for some advice before too long! xx
Has been wonderful getting to know you through your writing (and a little bit more offline) this year Ann - big thanks to you and here's to more great reading in 2025 ๐
Btw, did I ever tell you that I loved the documentary about the yacht at my grandson's school? If you know the maker, please tell him so. It showed a very very caring teacher (who my grandson knows, he teaches geography) buying the yacht in bad condition, fixing it up, teaching the kids to sail etc etc, but the kids lead such chaotic lives they aren't used to showing up on time for anything. But in the end they learned a lot. (It was made c 9 years ago, but the kids haven't changed.) Terrific piece of film making. I always thought it would be a good subject for a Big Film - involving lovely sailing in the solent, race relations, kids v adults, poor v rich, kids winning - all you need is a romantic story and everybody would be weeping in the end.
Thanks for the mention! I will definitely be going back over this post to check out some more of your recommendations - what a great categorial round up! (You had me at Liz Lemon tbh ๐)
Long may your warblings continue I say. PS it still kinda blows my mind I can read and talk to Just Seventeen royalty like yourself on here - one of the many marvellous things about Substack ๐คฉ
So much wonderful writing to discover eh. And not the least my saved posts from Wendy's World which I intend to savour like a very fine festive wine over Christmas...๐
