Wonderful round up. I didnβt do the thing today is so good. How productivity is so well explained and her well rounded view is just amazing, so many take-always. I can certainly recommend Flow it is so heart warming.
I can't wait to see it. I adored Robot Dreams last year - being able to tell an entire feature-length story purely through visuals with no dialogue is so impressive, and somehow so comforting. I love words, but sometimes it's a relief to forego them eh!
And you're so right about all the takeaways in I didn't do the thing today - I've been turning the corner of pages down like there's no tomorrow π€£
A pleasure! Just read your shop girl piece - though it's many, many moons ago now I spent two or three years as a seasonal temp at John Lewis (variously in the gifts department and children's shoes) and have many happy memories from those times. Working in retail is great! I met some fab people there.
Lovely round-up, Vicki. Glad you mentioned The Change - I really enjoyed its second series, too.
Yeah, Bridget Christie is such a superstar. I just love the world she's created in that show.
Yes, I found myself wanting to be an Eel Sister by the end! (Though I donβt like eels.)
Ha! Likewise π
Thank you for the mention, Vicky. I do love to stop a person in their tracks!
Your writing is stunning Ros! Academia's loss was definitely Substack's gain (and ours) x
Thanks, Vicki. It's my lifeline now, so I'm very glad of it. x
Plus - I also watched 00s film Yes Man with the kids a couple of weeks ago!
Good old ITV2 eh π
I had no idea it was on ITV2! I don't know what platform we watched it on, but it didn't have adverts.
Probably not itv2 then if no ads. We end up watching quite a lot of random films on there when the kids are channel hopping!
